New Castle, PA - David A. Purdy, age 72, of New Castle, Pennsylvania, passed away the morning of Dec. 19, 2025, at his residence.

Born Oct. 8, 1953, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Howard E. and Laura R. (Ramsey) Purdy.

David was a graduate of Wilmington High School and attended Edinboro University.

He was employed by YDC, where he worked as a house parent for 30 years, until his retirement.

David enjoyed watching the stock market and golfing.

He attended New Wilmington Presbyterian Church, where he was involved in the men's Bible study.

Survivors include one daughter, Lauren Purdy of New Castle, Pennsylvania; one son, David T. Purdy; and eight grandchildren.

Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.

A funeral service will be held immediately at 4 p.m., with Pastor Randy Crum officiating.
