David L. Rodgers Obituary

Edinburg, PA - David L. Rodgers Sr., 78, of Edinburg, Pennsylvania, passed away the afternoon of April 3, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

David was born June 14, 1947, in Titusville, Pennsylvania, to the late Robert Rodgers and Laura Heath.

He married his beloved wife, the former Betty Maynard, on Sept. 2, 1967, and they shared nearly 59 years together. She survives at home.

David will be remembered for his strength and work ethic. He worked for the railroad for 34 years, retiring as a supervisor and foreman.

He was a member of the Croatian Club and Johnson Club.

He enjoyed classic cars and Westerns, and made many wonderful memories with his family camping, traveling and golfing. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.

In addition to his wife, David is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, David and Tawnya Rodgers Jr.; brother, John Rodgers Sr.; and sister, Shirley Baron; as well has his faithful dog and granddog, Molly and EllyMae.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Chester McCance; three brothers, Robert Rodgers Jr., Gary Rodgers Sr. and Harlan Rodgers; sister, Leona "Red" Smith; and his granddog, Fez.

Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 9, at Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home, 3000 Wilmington Road, followed by a memorial service at 6 p.m., officiated by Rev. Dr. Richard Nero.
