Enon Valley - David Paul Russell (known to many of us as Cowboy), 61, of Enon Valley, Pennsylvania, passed away Feb. 19, 2026.

He was born Aug. 20, 1964, in New Brighton, Pennsylvania, a son of the late David (Guppy) Russell and Patricia (Braid) Metheny and stepfather Greg Metheny.

David (Cowboy) always had a cowboy hat on. He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, and he had a deep love for horses and dogs. His favorite horses were Oakley and Jess, and his favorite dogs were Buck and Gus.

He had a great love for the outdoors. He was also a scuba diver. He had many great dives in the Caribbean, and Bonaire was his favorite place to dive.

He loved watching the old Westerns on TV over and over.

He was also very proud to be a Freemason associated with The Meridian Lodge #411 in Enon Valley, and Ellwood Parian Lodge #559 in Ellwood City. Both his grandfathers and father were Freemasons.

He is survived by his brother, Brian (Delsea) Russell; niece, Brienna Russell; nephew, Jaxson Russell; stepmother, Christine Russell; as well as many other family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, Cowboy was preceded in death by his younger brother, Justin Russell.

Cowboy will be remembered and loved by many as an eternal cowboy at heart.

Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, 2026, at the Terry Cunningham Funeral Home, 203 Oak St. in Bessemer. There will be a Masonic Service at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Cowboy will be laid to rest in Little Beaver Cemetery.
