Dawn Alison McKelvy Obituary

Dawn Alison McKelvy, 77, of Grove City woke up in heaven on April 30, 2024.

She was born to Floyd Henderson Newingham Jr., and Rose Marie Ferrero Newingham on April 3, 1947, in Harrison Township, Allegheny County.

She was married to Ralph Patton McKelvy for 49 years until his death in February of this year.

Dawn worked for the City Rescue Mission in New Castle from 1988 until her retirement in 2009, serving first in the family care ministry and then in the development department.

She was a longtime member of the Rose Point Reformed Presbyterian Church.

Dawn is survived by a daughter, Rosann (Daniel) Edmonds of Grove City; son, Andrew (Sarah) McKelvy of Baltimore, Maryland; brother, Floyd (Judy) Newingham III of Hermitage; sister, Kimberly (James) Rowe of New Castle; nieces, Margaret (Karl) Pfeiffer of Anchorage, Alaska, Brittany (Josef) Cernevicius of New Castle and Courtney (Benjamin) Bair of Pulaski; grandchildren, great-nephews and great-nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 10, at Rose Point Reformed Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in Rose Point Cemetery.
