Sharpsville, PA - Debra Jean Costa, 68, of New Bedford, Pennsylvania, passed peacefully in her sleep at Hermitage Nursing and Rehabilitation due to an extended illness.

She was born May 9, 1957, to James (Baldy) and Jean Thompson in Sharon, Pennsylvania.

Debra was a 1975 graduate of Sharon High School.

Debra's lifelong passion was animals. She supported many animal relief organizations and was also a reputable Chinese Shar-Pei breeder before her illness.

She also enjoyed reading, swimming, camping and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her father, James (Baldy) Thompson of Sharon; children, Thomas and Courtney Costa, both of Sharon; sister, Cynthia Lynch of Streetsboro, Ohio; brother, James Thompson of Sharon; and sister, Connie Thompson of Lutz, Florida.

Debra was preceded in death by her mother, Jean Thompson.

In keeping her wishes, there will be no services. She will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage, Pennsylvania.
