New Castle - Derek J. Caraway Jr., 40, of West Lincoln Avenue, died Monday, May 18, 2026, at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless, Pennsylvania.
He was born Sept. 9, 1985, in Flint, Michigan, a son of Derek J. Fuqua of Flint, Michigan, and the late Lyvonnus Prowell.
He enjoyed reading, studying law and his ancestry, and was enrolled online at East Central University.
Above all, he loved his children.
He is survived by his longtime companion, Brittany Sibley; four children, Elijah M. McVay and his mother, Brittany Searcy, Braylen M.T. Sibley, Isahn J.A. Caraway and Cameron D. Carter; one granddaughter, Aviana N. Taylor; his best friend, J.J. Fuqua; and a number of brothers and sisters, Tiresha Austin, Jay Prowell, Lee Plotts, Miranda Williams, Shabbir Mykael Bey, Levaughn Prowell, Lefaughn Prowell and Lattice Price; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Mariah Anderson.
Private services will be celebrated at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Ave.
