Donald Lane Seward
Donald Lane Seward, 84, of New Castle passed away the morning of Nov. 27, 2019, at St. John XXIII Home in Hermitage.
Born on July 5, 1935, in New Castle, he was a son of the late Williston Lane and Virginia Elizabeth (Kneram) Seward.
On May 21, 1955, he married his beloved wife, Loretta (Christopher) Seward. She survives at home.
Donald was a foreman at Flowline Corp. for 32 years.
He loved to fish, hunt, bowl and golf.
He was a member of the Castle Rod and Gun Club and attended Faith Country Chapel.
What gave Donald the most joy in life was spending time with his family.
Along with his wife, Loretta, Donald is survived by three daughters, Debra (Daniel) Chrobak of New Castle, Jodi (Thomas) Bartlett of Slippery Rock and Denise Dean of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; a brother, Gary Lee (Cathy) Seward of Punta Gorda, Florida; two sisters, Carol Piczko of Denton, North Carolina, and Susan Wolfe of Ravenna, Ohio; a brother-in-law, Gerald "Bucky" Inman of New Brighton; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Douglas Lane Seward; and a sister, Janet Inman.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 6, at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.
A funeral service will follow immediately after visitation at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. Steve Miller officiating.
Burial will be at Unity Baptist Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John XXIII Home, 2250 Shenango Valley Freeway, Hermitage, Pa. 16148; or to Faith Country Chapel, 3818 Old Butler Road, New Castle, Pa. 16101.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle, where online condolences may be offered to the family by visiting
