McKeesport, PA - Dorothea M. Stringer, 99, longtime resident of the Fawcett Plan, McKeesport, died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2026, in Riverside Health & Rehabilitation Center, McKeesport.

She was born Oct. 18, 1926, in McKeesport, the daughter of the late Carl and Marie (Wagner) Kunkle. Dorothea was a member of First Assembly of God Church, Irwin, and a former member of Praise Assembly of God, North Versailles.

She was a longtime volunteer for Meals On Wheels, loved to bake and was caregiver for her family when needed.

She resided at Riverside Care Center for the past 18 months and made many friends there.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford C. Stringer.

She is survived by her children, Pastor Randy Stringer of Grove City and Laurene Barna (Wayne) of North Huntingdon; her grandchildren, Joshua Stringer, Jamie Guiser (Nick), Catherine-Noel Schultz (Brian), Christopher Wash (Janna), Maria Rajput (Gagan), Jenna Barna and Samuel Barna (Courtney); also 14 great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, at the William Snyder Funeral Home, 521 Main St., Irwin, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 10. Private interment will be in Mount Vernon Cemetery.
