New Beaver Borough, PA - Douglas E. "Bunger" Curry, 63, of New Beaver Borough passed away Thursday, May 8, 2025, at his residence following courageous battle with cancer.
Born Aug. 15, 1961, in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Frederick P. Curry and Martha Rorabaugh Curry of New Beaver Borough.
After graduating from Lawrence County Vo-Tech, Bunger worked as a self-employed mason and bricklayer. Methodist by faith, he was a member of the Ellwood City Moose and the Johnson Club in Hillsville.
In addition to his masonry skills, he was an avid and accomplished baseball and softball player, lastly playing for the Ellwood City Christ Presbyterian Church team, and loved spending time hunting.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Sue Ehalt Curry; mother, Martha; two sons, Jarrett "Beau" (Tia) Curry of Wampum and Rick (Kristin) Curry of Edinburg; four grandchildren, Belle, Brady, Evie and Olivia; two brothers, Paul (Sandy) Curry of New Castle and Glen (Lisa) Curry of Hopewell Township; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Fred.
Visiting hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday May 12, 2025, at the Marshall Funeral Home, 341 Main St., Wampum.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at the funeral home with Pastor Dave Keppen officiating. Interment will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the New Beaver Volunteer Fire Department.
