Enon Valley - Edward W. Abersold, 80, of Enon Valley, PA, passed away the evening of July 13, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Born on January 24, 1936 in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of the late Charles and Elizabeth Finch Abersold. Surviving at home is his beloved wife of 27 years, the former Helen Greiner, whom he married in 1989.

Edward had worked as a sheet metal worker for A & B Mechanical. He also was self-employed as a farmer. Edward had served his country as a member of U.S. Army. As a farmer, he loved taking care of his horses. He also enjoyed dancing.

In addition to his wife, Edward is survived by his children, Edward W. Abersold and wife Sherry of West Pittsburg, PA, James Abersold and wife Paula of Enon Valley, PA, Jeff Greiner and wife Andrea of Chippewa, PA, Kenneth Abersold of Louisville, KY, Daniel Abersold and wife Melissa of Mount Jackson, PA, and Cheri Guglielmon and husband James of Bloomfield, PA; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00pm to 6:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S Mill St. Memorial services will be conducted Tuesday at 6:00pm at the funeral home, officiated by Reverend Dennis Bupp. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will conduct military rites at the funeral home.
