Edward A. Stodolsky Obituary

Edward A. Stodolsky, 82, of Mercer, passed away the morning of Sept. 22, 2018, at his residence. Born on Aug. 4, 1936, in Yukon, Edward was the son of the late Charles and Catherine Louise Nemcheck Stodolsky. He is survived by his wife, the former Jean Miller, who he married on April 8, 1995.

Edward was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving his country during the Korean War. He retired from Prince William County Schools in Virginia, where he had worked as a carpenter. In his earlier years he had worked for the steelworkers. Edward enjoyed bowling, golfing and was an avid hunter. He was also a fan of all of the Pittsburgh area sports teams.

In addition to his wife, Edward is survived by his children, Carol Ann Cochenour and her husband, Dave, Sandra Lynn Stodolsky, Patty Liskooka and her husband, James, Edward A. Stodolsky, all of New Castle; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, four sisters and his granddaughter, Kayla Marie Brown.

Visitation is Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road.

Services will be held at the funeral on Tuesday at 6 p.m., conducted by Rev. Dr. Catherine Craley of Trinity Presbyterian Church. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will be performing military rites at the funeral home.
