Villa Maria, PA - Esther E. Leonard,76, of Villa Maria, Pennsylvania, passed away the morning of March 30, 2026, at UPMC Jameson Hospital.

Esther was born Feb. 18, 1950, in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, to the late Victor and Elizabeth (Nye) Kline.

On Oct. 26, 1974, she married her beloved husband, Franklin L. Leonard. They shared many wonderful years until his passing Aug. 8, 2021.

Esther was a homemaker and enjoyed caring for her husband and daughters.

She was a member of Chewton Christian Church for many years.

Esther enjoyed crafting, especially crocheting prayer shawls with the Sisters of Humility of Mary. She was also a proficient "green thumb" and had a lovely display of plants that she cared for daily. Esther always kept her birdhouses filled and loved watching the birds, particularly a special cardinal that visited her often.

Esther is survived by her daughters, Stacy Ferro and Jennifer Silvis (Earl); and her sister, Mildred Metrick (Mark).

In addition to her parents and husband, Esther was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Toby Ferro; and 10 siblings, Annie Snyder (Orville), Ruth Maurer (Jim), Grace Shifflet (Charlie), Victor Kline (Lois), David Kline (Irene), Martha Simmons, James Kline (Margaret), Dorothy Engle (Richard), Samuel Kline and Elizabeth Hartman (George).

Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, April 6, at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home, 941 S. Mill St., immediately followed by a memorial service at 6 p.m., officiated by Pastor Tom Litzenberg of Chewton Christian Church. Interment will be at Parkside Cemetery.
