Ethel Allen Obituary

Ethel Allen, 88, of 3650 Powers Way, Youngstown, Ohio, passed away the morning of Nov. 3, 2024, with family at her side.

Ethel was born Nov. 8, 1935, in New Castle to the late Charles and Ethel Mae (White) Wilson.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ethel is survived by her four children, Bonnie Levine of Fair Hope, Alabama, Dorothy Stewart of Diamondhead, Mississippi, Kimberly Kennedy of Youngstown, Ohio, and James H. Kerr II of New Castle, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren, Brian Levine, Arin (Skip) Keough, Jessica (Manny) Shaw, Bradley (Brittany) Levine, Nicole McAnallen, Dr. Andrew J. Shevitz, Tara Shevitz and Rhys Crabtree; and nine great-grandchildren. Ethel was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Lou McAnallen; and granddaughter, Zoyie Shevitiz.

Her children could not be prouder to have called her their mom. They will deeply miss her love, patience and guidance. She was an incredible human being and will be sorely missed by all who had the good fortune to know her.

Honoring her wishes, there will be no calling hours. However, the family is planning a celebration of Ethel's life at a future date.

A private graveside service will be held.

The family is asking that memorial donations be made in Ethel's name to the Veterans of America, 8719 Colesville Road, Suite 100, Silver Springs, MD 20910.

Burial will be in the Greenwood Methodist Unity Cemetery.
