Eugene A. Ioanilli (Geno) Obituary

Ellwood City, PA - Eugene A. "Geno" Ioanilli, 86, of Ellwood City, passed away on Monday, Sept. 1, 2025, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born in Ellwood City on March 11, 1939, Geno was the son of the late David and Lena Luongo Ioanilli. Geno married the former Kathryn Perry on Aug. 18, 1962. Geno worked as a crane operator at B&W and later retired from EQS. He also spent many years as a Maytag repairman in Ellwood City. Geno was a member of Divine Grace Parish. He enjoyed making wine and Italian meats and cheeses. Geno spent many happy years camping and boating with Kathryn. He enjoyed hunting, he loved the Pittsburgh Steelers, "The Bus" and spending time with his grandchildren, attending all of their sporting events.

Geno is survived by his wife of 63 years, Kathryn Ioanilli of Ellwood City; his three children, David (Cathy) Ioanilli of Wayne Township, Suzanne (Dennis) Durbin of Shenango Township and Craig (Tracey) Ioanilli of Neshannock Township; six grandchildren, Joseph Ioanilli, Nicholas Ioanilli, Tyler Durbin, Maria Ioanilli, Matthew Ioanilli and Marlie Ioanilli; a step-granddaughter, Christa (Chris) Tucker and a step-great grandson, Anthony James Tucker.

In addition to his parents, Geno was preceded in death by three sisters, Lucy Piccolo, Gloria Trivilino and Teresa Damato and two brothers, Reynolds Ionellie and Joseph Ionellie.

Private family services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 6 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport.
