New Castle - Frances Altman, 88, of Neshannock Township passed away the evening of Monday, July 11, 2016, at her residence.

Born on May 14, 1928, in New Castle, she was a daughter of the late Sam and Nellie Bondi Tardio.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Mendell L. Altman, whom she married in 1956.

Frances was a member of St. Vitus Church. She enjoyed cooking, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband, Frances is survived by her children, Mary Lou (John) Warso, Randy Altman and Bill (Mary Jo) Altman, all of New Castle, and Paul (Doreen) Altman of Bessemer; her brothers, John "Bucky" (Paula) Tardio of New Castle and Paul Tardio of Rockford, Illinois; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Baby Joe Tardio, Joseph Tardio, Sam Tardio and Frank Tardio; and her sister, Josephine Patton.

Visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.

Blessing services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. William Siple of St. Vitus Church.
