New Castle - Frances L. Budai-Kassi, 80, of New Castle, passed away early Friday morning, Jan. 30, 2026, at Kadima of New Wilmington.

Frances was born Dec. 29, 1945, in New Castle, to the late George and Stella Budai.

A longtime resident of New Castle, Frances graduated from Union Area High School in 1963.

She went on to work at Shenango China, and later worked for and retired from Liberty Mutual Insurance in New Castle. Following retirement, she worked for Contents Services, Inc. and New Castle Construction in Corona, California.

Frances ultimately moved back to New Castle to spend more time with her son, grandsons and great-granddaughter.

Frances loved spending time with her grandchildren and their many friends and talking with her brothers. In her spare time, she enjoyed shopping or browsing online, and watching classic movies.

Frances was preceded in death by two sons, Jamie Kassi and infant son, Robert E. Kassi II; three brothers, Bobby, George and Paul Budai; and an infant great-grandson, Dawson

She is survived by her son, Robbie Kassi of New Castle; five grandchildren, Austin (Brittany) Kassi, Christian (Haley) Kassi, Brett Kassi, Kyle Kassi and Maddie Kassi; two great-granddaughters, Chloe Kassi and Jaymee Kassi; three brothers, Johnny Budai and Jimmy Budai, both of New Castle, and Andy Budai, of Buena Park, California; and many nieces and nephews.
