Shenango Township, PA - Frances A. Huff (Olescyski) passed away Thursday, January 22, 2026, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, to meet her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She had just turned 84.

She was born Jan. 21, 1942, to Charles and Anne Olescyski in New Castle, Pennsylvania.

She graduated from Shenango High School and worked at Bell Telephone before marrying the young man up the street, Jesse "Mickey" Huff, on Feb. 16, 1963. They had three children and built a home and family together in the country setting of Shenango Township.

For years, Fran was very active in the local Catholic church, oversaw the religious store at St. Joseph's the Worker, and later attended the Holy Trinity Church, where her parents had been members.

She was an avid reader of novels and the Bible, enjoyed gardening and baking, loved arts and crafts, was a talented seamstress and quilter, and was a consummate homemaker for more than six decades. She was an ultimate caregiver for all living things.

Fran was a loving sister and aunt, a mother of three and grandmother of eight.

She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Anne Olescyski (Zakrzewski); husband, Jesse "Mickey" Huff; and son-in-law, Eric Griffith.

She is survived by her brother, Chuck, and sister-in-law, Anne Olescyski, of Mars, Pennsylvania; her sister, Debbie Budai, and brother-in-law, Jimmy, of New Castle; as well as her children, Terri Griffith and George Peveich of Wintersville, Ohio, Mickey and Meg Huff of Ithaca, New York, Christopher Huff and Kittie of New Castle; and her grandkids.

There will be a private celebration of life for Fran later in the spring, and her remains will be buried at the Parkside Cemetery.

She will be loved and dearly missed by all who knew her.
