Frank J. Acquaviva Sr., 83, of New Castle passed away the afternoon of Sept. 22, 2019, at Quality of Life Services of New Castle.

Born on July 2, 1936, in New Castle, he was a son of the late Frank "Bama" Acquaviva and Anne Isaac Acquaviva.

Frank married the former Mary Lou Quaranto and she preceded him in death on Dec. 28, 2011.

Frank had worked in his early years as a dealer at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. He then was employed with UPS. He ended his career as a floor man for the Tropicana Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City.

Frank served his country in the Navy during the Korean War.

He was a member of St. John The Baptist Maronite Catholic Church.

Frank was an avid sports fan. Frank enjoyed going out to eat and having coffee with his buddies.

Frank is survived by his son, Frank Joseph Acquaviva Jr. and his wife, Amanda, of San Marcos, California; and his sister, Barbara "Tootsie" Acquaviva Rice of New Castle.

In addition to his parents and wife, Frank was preceded in death by a brother, Geno Acquaviva.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.

A Blessing Service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Claude Franklin.

Burial will be in St. Vitus Cemetery.
