Fred Antonelli, 77, of 520 E. Garfield Ave. died the morning of Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006, in the Overlook Medical Clinic, New Wilmington. Born May 4, 1929, in Morgantown, W.Va., he was a son of the late Stefano and Francesca Marcucci Antonelli. He married the former Nancy DiCaprio on Oct. 22, 1955. She died on June 15, 1996. Mr. Antonelli was retired from Republic Steel Corp. of Youngstown. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. Mr. Antonelli belonged to St. Mary Church of Mary, Mother of Hope Parish. Survivors include one daughter, Anita Antonelli of New Castle; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Anthony Antonelli and Albert and Sue Antonelli, all of New Castle; one sister, Freda Perillo of New Castle; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandson. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Vera Antonelli; and a brother, Demetrio Antonelli. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road. A blessing service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
