Frederick Samuel Schriner Sr.
Frederick Samuel Schriner Sr., 77, better known as "Bubba" to his friends, has passed away peacefully at home the morning of Nov. 8, 2019.
He was born on Oct. 4, 1942, in North Sewickley.
He served honorably in the Army from 1962 to 1964, stationed in Alaska.
He worked as a meat cutter for Gee Bees in Monaca.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Leroy David and Edna Mae (Tyler) Schriner-Levine; and his sister, Ruth Woods (Schriner).
He is survived by two brothers, David Schriner and Robert "Bob" Schriner; Fred's ex-wife, Rose Schriner (Rea); four children, Barbara (Phillip) King, Fred (Marna Cosgrove) Schriner Jr., Tammy (Rusty) Thweatt and Wanda (David) Claypool; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He would do anything for his kids and loved them with all his heart. He enjoyed spending time with his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.
Fred truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures - playing cards with the guys, coaching softball, bocce, attending as many bingos as he could afford, and most recently playing rummikub with Dolly at the Life Lawrence Center, and of course his "Sugar" the family dog.
Fred had an uncanny ability to talk "chat" to just about anyone he came in contact with or met.
His smile could light up the darkest room.
Family, friends and others whose lives Fred touched are invited to the Gabauer-Lutton Funeral Home, 117 Blackhawk Road, Chippewa www.gabauerfamilyfuneral on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2019, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. to reminisce, grieve, support each other, and of course, just "chat."
A funeral service will be held at noon Monday at the funeral home. The Rev. Bobby Wilson will officiate.
Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park. The Beaver County Honor Guard is asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:30 p.m. Monday to perform full military honors.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home or Life Lawrence Center, 2911 W. State St., New Castle, Pa. 16101 in his memory.

Oh Uncle Fred, the many times we went to bingo and were so loud we missed the numbers being called, my fondest memory was coming home from bingo one evening and we were at a red light, I beleive we sat there for about 5 minutes until you believed the light was broken and went through it, I was so scared the police were going to get us and you said to me “if the police pull us over I’m telling them I went through the light because there was something wrong with your mouth” I said “what’s wrong with my mouth”? You said “I DONT KNOW I JUST WONT STOP MOVING” lol I did not understand at that time what it ment but now that I do I laugh at it. I love you uncle Fred you will be sadly... missed by many.Read more
