Gary J. Antonelli, 67, of Hubbard, Ohio, passed away Easter Sunday afternoon, April 21, 2019, at St. Elizabeth Health Youngstown Hospital.

He was born Sept. 16, 1951, in New Castle, a son of Reginald and Theresa (Cumo) Antonelli.

Gary was a 1969 graduate of New Castle High School, and for a time, he attended New Castle Business College.

He was employed as a bricklayer for the former Shenango China in New Castle for 20 years until its closing. He then went on to work as a dispatcher for the Lawrence County Emergency Operations Center for 25 years, prior to retiring.

He married the former Kathy L. Spencer on June 1, 1990. They shared almost 29 years of marriage and many happy memories together. She survives.

Gary was a volunteer with the Children's Rehabilitation Center, American Cancer Society and the American Red Cross and often helped organize and work their various golf outings.

He enjoyed traveling and playing cards with his friends.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a brother, Gerald (Julie) Antonelli of Pittsburgh, and their two sons. He also leaves behind his "favorite" mother-in-law, Mary Ann Spencer, of Warren, Ohio; a nephew, Chris (Christine) Antonelli of Columbus, Ohio; his great-niece and great-nephews, Jacob, Lucas, Gavin and Juliana; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law, Harold L. Spencer.

In accordance with the family's wishes, there will be no funeral services or calling hours.

Gary will be laid to rest in Howland (Ohio) Township Cemetery.

Arrangements for Mr. Antonelli have been entrusted to the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, 533 N. Park Ave., Warren.
