Gene Merrill Bicehouse of Pulaski passed away peacefully Sept. 9, 2024.
Gene was born March 3, 1933, in Whitestown, Pennsylvania, to the late Charles M.and Dorothy B. Bicehouse.
He married his sweetheart, Helen Irene Bicehouse, Jan. 26, 1954. They were married for 67 years.
He joined the U.S. Army in November 1953 and served during the Korean War.
Afterwards, he became a truck driver for Heckett Engineering, hauling heavy equipment. Upon retirement, he started repairing bicycles for everyone in the community, even with crippling rheumatoid arthritis.
Affectionally known as "Pap" by his loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he was a member of New Bedford EP Church. He was always giving away free hugs and a kiss on the cheek. Gene was known as "The Greeter" at Garden Way, welcoming any new resident and encouraging others to exercise and keep moving.
He loved to spend time with his family and friends. He was loved by many.
He is survived by his daughter, Diana Halt (Len); his sons, Dale Bicehouse (Beth) and Don Bicehouse; grandchildren, Jessica Piccola (Corey), Rebecca Wilson (Patrick), Ashley Misinay (Jon), Dustin Bicehouse (Ashley), Chris Bicehouse, Alex Bicehouse and Lukas Ealy; great-grandchildren, Willow Bicehouse and Oliver Bicehouse; and a precious baby due in February.
Gene was preceeded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Donna Ealy; and daughter-in-law, Trina Bicehouse.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024, in New Bedford Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 151 Woodland Drive, Pulaski, PA, with Pastor Dan Muttart.

Visitation is 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, in the church. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
