George Alick Obituary
George Alick Jr., 51, of 1545 Sunny Ave. died the afternoon of June 25, 2007, in the emergency room of St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown, with his wife at his side. Born Oct. 6, 1955, in New Castle, he was a son of George Sr. and Jennie Bakuhn Alick. His father died Feb. 6, 2007. His mother survives in New Wilmington. He married the former Valerie Kendall on March 22, 1980. She survives. Mr. Alick was a crane operator at Ellwood Quality Steel for 20 years. He was a 1973 graduate of Union High School. Mr. Alick enjoyed making objects with wood, working around the house, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of Shenango Presbyterian Church. In addition to his wife and mother, survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Trisha Rose and Jeremiah Reiter of New Castle; a son, Brett George Alick of New Castle; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Judith and Greg Keller of the Morrison area of Denver, Susan A. and John Biberich of Grove City, Linda J. and Greg Huckle of Gunnison, Colo., and Ruby M. Alick of Sacramento, Calif.; and two grandchildren, Brayden and Brooke Reiter. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, 111 W. Falls St., and 9:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Shenango Presbyterian Church. A service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. The Rev. David Hunter will officiate.
