George R Kerens Obituary

George R. Kerens, 75, of Union Township passed away the evening of Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018, at his residence.

Born on Feb. 22, 1943 in Glady, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Carl and Mary Ellen Vance Kerens.

On Aug. 31, 1967, he married his beloved wife, the former Joyce Johnson, and the two of them spent 46 years together until she preceded him in death on Sept. 30, 2013.

George had worked as a crane operator for LTV Steel and later worked as a truck driver for Reliable Lumber.

He served his country as a member of the Army during the Vietnam Era.

He was a member of Nashua Orthodox Presbyterian Church.

George is survived by his children, Kimberly Cannaday and husband, Anthony, and Douglas Kerens, both of Edinburg; brothers, Dale Kerens of Elkins, West Virginia, and Glenn Kerens of Glady, West Virginia; sister, Grace Shiflett of Middletown, Ohio; and grandchildren, Jorgen Kerens and Matthew Cannaday.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by brothers, Harold Kerens and Richard Kerens; and sister, Hilda Kerens.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Nashua Orthodox Presbyterian Church, 6893 State Route 551, Edinburg.

Memorial services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday at the church, officiated by Pastor Patrick Ramsey.

Interment will take place in Graceland Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.
