New Castle, Pennsylvania - Gloria Anderson, 64, went to be with the Lord the afternoon of Dec. 3, 2020, at her home in Shenango Township, after a courageous five-year battle with ovarian cancer.

Born Aug. 1, 1956, in New Castle, she was the daughter of Joseph and Nellie (Brown) Alberico.

She is survived by her husband, Carl A. Anderson, with whom she spent 17 wonderful years. They married May 28, 2011.

A Shenango High School graduate, Gloria was employed at the Lawrence County courthouse in the Treasurer's Office. She then gained employment with McKesson ARC.

She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church, where she served as a deaconess.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Tara (Billy) Houk of New Castle; a son, Donald "Ducky" Conti III of New Castle; three brothers, Joseph (Gina) Alberico of Florida, Ralph (Pam) Alberico and Matthew (Kelly) Alberico of New Castle; three sisters, Bonnie (Joe) Canzana and Mara (Les) Davis of New Castle; sister-in-law, Kathy Kash of New Castle; and three grandchildren, Maci Houk, Ryan Conti and Chase Conti.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law, Michael Kash.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 8, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Harmony Baptist Church, 4103 Ellwood Road, New Castle.

A memorial service will take place immediately following visitation at 6: p.m. with the Rev. Jeff MacKay officiating.

Visitors are asked to adhere to guidelines regarding wearing face masks and practicing social distancing.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
