Gloria Jean Schroeder, 77, of Orchard Manor in Grove City, formerly of Slippery Rock, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020.

She was born in Zelienople, Pennsylvania, on June 23, 1943, to Guy Rime and Emma Alberth Rime.

She married William M. Schroeder on May 21, 1960, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 3, 2017.

She retired in 2000 from the New Castle News, where she worked in advertising sales.

She was a founding member of All Saints Lutheran Church of Slippery Rock, where she was active in volunteer activities.

She enjoyed baking, cooking and arranging flowers. She is survived by two daughters, Debby J. (Dennis) Snyder of Slippery Rock, and Sherry A. (Andrew) Major of Orchard Park, New York; a son, William G. "Butch" (Crystal) Schroeder of Slippery Rock; a sister, Ann (David) Jacobs of Prospect; seven grandchildren, Stephanie (Eric) Slater, Rebecca (Derek) DeGraaf, Michael (Amanda) Schroeder, Jennifer (Mark) Borcz, Rami Major, William Major and Rachael Major; and three great-grandchildren, Shelby, Matthew and Ryker.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Adam; and brother, Jack.

The family will hold a private service for Gloria at Smith Funeral Home in Slippery Rock on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2020, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Larry Loree, pastor of All Saints Lutheran Church, presiding. Interment will be in Pinewood Memorial Gardens in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in her name to All Saints Lutheran Church, 351 S. Main St., Slippery Rock, PA 16057.
