Hazel M. Pence, age 89, of New Castle died March 26, 2025, at Quality Life Services-New Castle.
Hazel was born Sept. 26, 1935, in Little Marsh, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late John and Viola (Smith) Monk.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, crafting and watching American Pickers and westerns.
Hazel is survived by her daughter, Mary Lou Andrushchenko; a stepson, Clyde M. Pence; a stepdaughter, Caroline (Bob) Swartz; three grandchildren, Emma Andrushchenko, Sasha (Alex) Slaughter and Lissi Gleghorn; three great-grandchildren, Sloane, Leland and Evie; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her first husband, Pete Andrushchenko; her second husband, Clyde Pence; two children, Kathy Palmer and Linda Andrushchenko; her brothers, Harold and Dick Monk and Jim Bump; and a sister, Elnora Cole.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2025, at the Terry Cunningham Funeral Home, 258 Poland Ave., Bessemer, PA. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2025, also at the Terry Cunningham Funeral Home.
The burial will take place in the Oak Park Cemetery.
