Helen G. Bobic, 96, of 505 Lyndal St., passed away the evening of Feb. 3, 2025, in the Haven Nursing Home.

Helen was born Nov. 6, 1928, in Greenwich, Connecticut. She was the daughter of the late William and Anna (Medved) Shaughnessy.

She married the late Edward D. Bobic. They were married for 57 years.

Helen was Roman Catholic and attended Holy Spirit Parish. She was a graduate of New Castle High School, class of 1946.

Mrs. Bobic will be remembered by her family as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She also worked outside the home as a gold liner at the former Shenango China Company here in New Castle.

She was a member of the Croatian Fraternal Union.

Helen enjoyed going to the casinos and playing bingo. She loved cooking for her family and would always say "make a dish." Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Helen is survived by her three sons, David E. (Judy) Bobic of New Bedford, Pennsylvan ia, Thomas L. (Joellyn) Bobic of Butler, Tennessee, and Ronald W. (Bonnie) Bobic of Pine Hurst, North Carolina; two daughters, Elaine A. (John) Withrow and Diane (James McMillin) Stoner, both of New Castle; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Edward, Helen was preceded in death by her brother, Fred Corrino; and sister, Grace Nimmo.

Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, 2025, at the Noga Funeral Home, Inc. 1142 S. Mill St., New Castle.

A Blessing Service and Rite of Committal will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Noga Funeral Home, Inc. 1142 S. Mill St., New Castle. Rev. Benjamin Barr, pastor of Holy Spirit Parish, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
