Winter Haven, Florida - Helen Marie Rogers, age 96, formerly of New Castle, passed away July 2, 2026, at Winter Haven Hospital in Florida.

Born Dec. 11, 1929, in New Castle, she was the daughter of Harold and Mabel (Flickinger) Burkey.

She was preceded in death Aug. 2, 2014, by her beloved husband of 66 years, Glenn H. Rogers, whom she married Aug. 9, 1947.

Helen worked at St. Francis Hospital in the IU4 Unit before becoming a devoted homemaker. She enjoyed raising her four children, Tamara, Glenn, Carolyn and Carl. Later in life, she worked at CVS, where she cherished interacting with the customers. Helen loved gardening, attending her woman's clubs and being a member of Independent Methodist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Tamara Pieri of New Castle; one son, Carl A. (Kathy) Rogers of Winter Haven, Florida; one sister, Vera Fletcher of Three Rivers, Michigan; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Glenn C. Rogers; and her daughter, Carolyn Jean Bittinger.

Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 9, at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.

A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, July 10, at the funeral home, with The Rev. Frederick H. Gilbert of Independent Methodist Church officiating.

Burial will be beside her husband in Oak Park Cemetery.
