Henry W. Wellhausen Obituary

Henry W. Wellhausen, 99, of Old State Road, Slippery Rock Twp. passed away at his residence the evening of November 6, 2016.

Henry was born in Slippery Rock Twp. on December 13, 1916 to the late Charles and Clara Guy Wellhausen. He married the former Anna G. Miller, who preceded him in death on June 14, 2016.

Henry was a retired farmer and had worked at the YDC as a Houseparent and in the warehouse. He also was once a substitute mail carrier and County Tax Assessor. He was a member of the Center Presbyterian Church where he had served as an Elder and Trustee. Henry was also a member of the East New Castle Grange.

He is survived by his children; Lois and James Smith of Cincinnati, OH., Phillip and Rebecca Wellhausen of Crawfordsville, IN., and Elizabeth and Richard Zimmerman of Pittsburgh, 15 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, Henry was preceded in death by his sister; Kezia Lechner.

Visitation will be held on Friday, from 5 to 8 pm at the Turner-Myers Funeral Home, 208 North Jefferson Street, New Castle. Funeral services will be on Saturday at 11 am at the Center Presbyterian Church. Rev. Dr. James Bibza will officiate.

Interment will be in the Center Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Center Presbyterian Church.
