James R. McCready Obituary

James Richard McCready, 80, formerly of Cherry Street, Mahoningtown, died Sunday, March 3, 2019, at his home in New Castle. He was born on July 27, 1938, in New Castle, a son of the late Clyde and Ann (Lacinak) McCready. He married Louise M. (Domenick) McCready on Sept. 7, 1963, who survives.

Mr. McCready worked for 34 years on the loading dock at Shenango China. He was a Navy veteran and enjoyed fishing, listening to country music and Johnny Cash and football, especially the Steelers and Penn State. The job that gave him the most enjoyment and pride was being a full-time caregiver for his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Kimberly A. Nocera and her husband, Paul, of New Castle, James B. McCready and his wife, Kathy, of New Castle, and Dee Dee M. Badger and her husband, Dave, of New Castle; one brother, John L. McCready and his wife, Carol, of Warren, OH; one sister, Patricia McKara and her husband, Al, of Youngstown, OH; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Ave. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. James O'Hara will be officiating. Entombment will be in the Castle View Memorial Gardens.
