James L. Stewart Obituary

New Castle, PA - James L. Stewart, 82, of 905 Glen Road, New Castle, passed away the evening of June 10, 2025, at his residence.

James was born Feb. 19, 1943, in New Castle. He was the son of the late Harry E. and Emma Belle (Smith) Stewart Sr.

James was married to the former Marlene A. Biddle. They were married for 60 years. She survives at home.

James attended Wilmington High School.

Mr. Stewart worked as a welder with the former Rockwell Axle Division here in New Castle. James also worked as a welder at the former Youngstown Sheet and Tube. He then retired from Girard Machine Company after 22 years of service.

Mr. Stewart loved being outdoors, going hunting, fishing, farming, gardening and boating. He was an avid NASCAR and Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan. His greatest joy was attending his grandchildren's sporting events.

In addition to his wife, Marlene, James is survived by two sons, Scott E. (Marla) Stewart of New Castle and Kevin J. (Amy R.) Stewart of Renfrew, Pennsylvania; brother and sister-in-law, John (Yvonne) Stewart of Pulaski, Pennsylvania; sister, Emma Lou Noga of New Wilmington, Pennsylvania; sister-in-law, Kay Stewart of Sharon, Pennsylvania; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Stewart was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harry S. (Dolly) Stewart and Karl Stewart; brother-in-law, J. Russell Noga; and several nephews.

Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2025, at the Noga Funeral Home Inc. 1142 S. Mill St., New Castle.

A Blessing Service will be conducted immediately following visitation in the funeral home. Rev. Matthew Bupp will officiate.
