James B. Tillia Obituary
James B. Tillia, 88, of Wayne Township, passed away Saturday, Nov. 23, 2024, at UPMC Jameson Hospital.
Born July 3, 1936, in Wampum, he was the son of the late Eugene and Hazel Reno Tillia.
Jim worked as a foreman at B&W in Koppel until his retirement. He was a proud Veteran and served in the Army with the 82nd Airborne. He was a member of the Harmony Baptist Church where he served as a trustee for many years, and of the Koppel-Big Beaver Sportsman's Association where he served as treasurer for many years. He loved being outside, sitting on his porch and was an avid reader. A dedicated family man, he cherished moments spent with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Barbara Strealy Tillia; three sons, Jesse (Pam), of Buffalo, N.Y., Jeffrey (Deborah), of Adamsville, and Jerry (Betty) Tillia, of Wampum; daughter, Kim (Steve) Dobos, of Cranberry Township; seven grandchildren, Jessica, Rebecca, Jennifer, Brianne, Alan, Megan and Lauren; 18 great-grandchildren, and sister, Donna Nagel, of Wampum.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandson, Alberto Rodriguez; and brother, Gale Tillia.
Visiting hours will be held Monday, Nov. 25, 2024, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Marshall Funeral Home, 341 Main St., Wampum. Friends will also be received Tuesday, Nov. 26, from 10:30 until the Funeral Service at 11 a.m. at the Harmony Baptist Church. Pastors Jeff McKay and Ronnie Nagel will officiate. Military Rites will be observed. Interment will follow in Harmony Baptist Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Harmony Baptist Church or the Koppel-Big Beaver Sportsman's Association.
