Hampstead, Maryland - James Barrett Zambelli, of Hampstead, Maryland, who also cherished his time in Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Florida, passed away unexpectedly Nov. 16, 2025, surrounded in spirit by the family he adored.

Jim lived a life filled with curiosity, humor and an unshakable zest for living. He had a way of making every event larger than life, bringing energy, enthusiasm and a relentless work ethic to everything he did.

He loved traveling, boating, golfing, exercising, writing and playing the guitar. He valued his friendships deeply and was always the first to lend a hand. As a true Mr. Fix-It, Jim could repair almost anything you put in front of him, and he took joy in doing it for the people he cared about most.

Jim enjoyed a long career of 38 years in education with the State of Pennsylvania, retiring in 2009 as an elementary principal from Karns City School District in Karns City, Pennsylvania.

His booming voice, quick wit, and unmistakable laugh were trademarks of a man who embraced each day fully, exuding fun and love, and always making the people around him feel supported and cherished.

Above all, James loved his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Linda Pelley Zambelli; daughter, April Zambelli-Weiner, her husband, Dan Weiner, and their children Ryland, Emersyn, Kai, Morgan, and Grace; his son, Case Zambelli, his spouse, Carrie Colbert Zambelli, and their children Caelyn, Cagney, and Claire; and his daughter, Brandi Zambelli.

James will be remembered for his warmth, his humor, his passion for life and the way he lit up when his family was together. His presence was a gift, and his love echoes on in the many lives he touched.

There will be an intimate viewing for immediate family only at Eline Funeral Home in Hampstead, Maryland.
