New Wilmington - Janet Lynn Womer of New Wilmington, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully Jan. 17, 2026. She was 84 years old.

Jan was born June 21, 1941, to Chet and Dorothy Edmiston. She graduated from Wilmington High School in 1959, where she was an honor student and cheerleader.

Upon graduation Jan moved to New York City, where she worked for PanAm. Always beautiful, Jan was chosen by PanAm as a representative in an international beauty pageant.

Jan met her husband, Dave Womer, in a one-room schoolhouse on Old Mercer Road. They were high school sweethearts and were married Aug. 1, 1961, at Neshannock Presbyterian Church.

Jan and Dave built and lovingly cared for a home on Maiden Blush Drive, where they lived for more than 30 years. A gifted gardener, Jan created stunning garden landscapes.

Jan's hobbies included photography, sewing, reading, genealogy and travel. She traveled to many states with Dave and their children, and visited England, Ireland, Scotland, Germany, and Austria. She adored Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and never missed their seasonal displays.

Jan loved entertaining family and friends for St. Patrick's Day and Boxing Day, planning family reunions and hosting dinner parties.

Jan was especially close to her sisters, Pat and Dale. She and Dave loved visiting wineries and traveling with them and their spouses.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; siblings, Sue Ellen, Patricia and Richard; and nieces, Georgia Sue and Sandy Mae.

Surviving siblings include Evelyn, Elizabeth, William (Elizabeth), Robert (Donna), John (Kate), Dale (Bill) and Marilyn (Greg). She is also survived by children, Leanna (Tom) Colarich, Brandon (Bea) Womer and Heidi (Don) Bizon. Surviving grandchildren include Mara (Alex) Dimitri, Jacob Womer, Brennan and Braden Bizon, and David and Julianna Graney. Great-grandchildren include Mallory, Mack and Wesley Dimitri.

A special thank-you to Jan's sister, Dale, who gave so much of her time visiting with Jan, and for the beautiful flowers she provided for Jan at Shenango on the Green. Thank you to Shenango on the Green for their loving care.

There are no services. Interment will be at Neshannock Presbyterian Cemetery, New Wilmington. Arrangements were made by Smith Funeral Home.
