Jean D. Allen of New Wilmington passed away peacefully Friday, Aug. 30, 2024, in her home. She was 102 years old.

Mrs. Allen was born June 7, 1922, in New Castle, a daughter of the late Ralph Vance Dufford and Cora Grace (Wilcox) Dufford, and graduated from New Castle High School.

Jean, a homemaker, was previously active in the New Wilmington PTA, Rotary Anns, Christian Women's Club and the New Wilmington Garden Club.

Jean was a longtime member of Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church in New Castle.

Her husband of 66 years, Fred H. Allen, whom she married in January 1942, preceded her in death May 15, 2008.

Jean is survived by four children, Marilou Stimple of New Wilmington, Fred Allen (Carol) of Butler, Pennsylvania, Susan Jones (Jack) of Brookville, Pennsylvania, and John Allen (Joyce) of New Wilmington; four grandchildren, Mark Stimple, Jennifer Armstrong, Ashley Allen and Robert Allen; and two great-grandchildren, Elysia and Luke Stimple.

As per Jean's request, there will be no calling hours.

A memorial service will be held privately by her family.

Interment will be in Oak Park Cemetery, Neshannock Township.
