Former New Butler Road resident Jennie Alick, 84, of the Overlook Medical Clinic, New Wilmington, died the afternoon of Oct. 8, 2007, in West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born March 14, 1923, in New Castle, she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Mary Kopsky Bakuhn. She was married to George Alick Sr. for 59 years. He died in February 2007. Mrs. Alick retired from Universal Rundle Corp. after 20 years of service as a fiberglass inspector in the tubs/shower department. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, doll collecting and, in her later years, watching professional football on television. Her family was her life. She attended St. Nicholas Carpatho Russian Orthodox Church. Survivors include four daughters and three sons-in-law, Judi and Greg Keller of Denver, Susan and John Biberich of Grove City, Linda and Greg Huckle of Gunnison, Colo., and Ruby Alick of Sacramento, Calif.; a brother, Jacob Bakuhn Jr. of New Wilmington; two sisters, Evelyn Gorgacz of New Castle and Jackie Santillo of Volant; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, George Alick Jr. on June 25, 2007; and two sisters, Lenore Bakuhn and Mary "Tootsie" Offredo. Calling hours are 4 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at the Noga Funeral Home, 1142 S. Mill St. A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Very Rev. Richard Salley of St. Nicholas Carpatho Russian Orthodox Church will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
