Jerry M. Spencer Obituary
Shenango Township - Mr. Jerry M. Spencer, 95, of Shenango Township passed away Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025, at The Addison of Clen-Moore Place in New Castle.
Mr. Spencer was born the son of the late Samuel and Christine (Cangey) Spencer on Sept. 11, 1930, in Mahoningtown.
Jerry graduated from New Castle High School.
He enlisted with the United States Navy on Feb. 21, 1952, and served on the USS Maloy until his honorable discharge on Feb. 15, 1956, and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.
He had worked briefly for the United States Postal Service, and later for the P&LE Railroad in McKees Rocks as a carpenter for 30 years.
Jerry enjoyed walking daily and carpentry work at his home.
He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis Jean (Pace) Spencer, whom he married June 21, 1969; his niece, Allyson (John) Pace; and his nephew, Adam (Linda) Pace.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Phyllis Domenick and Gloria DiSanti; and brothers, Michael Spencer and William Spencer Sr.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. Monday at Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church, with Father James Wehner officiating. Interment will follow at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Members of the Veterans Honor Guard are asked to meet at the cemetery by 11:50 a.m. Monday to conduct full military rites.
The funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.
