Pulaski - Jodi Lynn Gargasz, of Pulaski, passed away Feb. 27, 2026, at the age of 66.

Born June 26, 1959, Jodi lived a life rooted in love, dedication and compassion.

For 38 years, she faithfully served as a nurse's aide at Villa Maria, where she lovingly cared for retired nuns. Her work was more than a career — it was a calling. She offered comfort, dignity and kindness to those she cared for, touching countless lives through her gentle spirit and unwavering devotion.

On Aug. 10, 1983, she married the love of her life, Thomas Gargasz. Together, they built a life filled with family, laughter and shared passions.

Jodi was a lifelong and devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys — a loyalty that sometimes playfully clashed with her husband Tom's love for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Their spirited football rivalry was all in good fun and a cherished part of their life together. They also enjoyed spending time side by side watching NASCAR races, creating simple but meaningful moments that brought them closer.

Jodi was mother to TJ and Brandie Gargasz. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Evan, Ethan, Thomas and Axl; her brother, Steve; her sisters, Courtney, Beth and Heather; and her two beloved cats, Percy (affectionately known as "Lanky") and Pete. Jodi had a special place in her heart for animals, especially cats, and her home was always filled with their comfort and companionship.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Hughes and Jackie Hughes.

Known for her remarkable green thumb, Jodi took great pride in the beautiful plants that adorned her front porch, a reflection of the care and attention she gave to all living things.

She will be remembered for her compassionate heart, her devotion to her family, her sense of humor and the warmth she brought to those around her. Her love and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her."
