New Castle, PA - John A. Bertolino, 64, of Union Township passed away the evening of April 20, 2025, at UPMC Jameson Hospital.
Born May 11, 1960, in New Castle, John was the son of the late Anthony Bertolino Sr. and Helen A. Colella Bertolino.
For over 20 years, John has been working as Director of Sales and Marketing for Sycor Americas.
A lifetime resident of Union Township, John was larger than life. In the early years, John coached Pop Warner football for Union Township. He was very active as an officer of the Union Boosters for 13 years, was an assistant coach for the Union High School football team for 24 years. He has been serving on the Union School Board for the past 29 years. He had also been an assistant football coach for two years for New Castle High School.
John was a member of Victory Family Church.
He had a selfless spirit and passion for working with and mentoring young people. Everyone loved his wonderful sense of humor. John also enjoyed gardening and taking care of his yard. He was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan.
John also prided himself by working out and staying fit. A loving and devoted father, John was exceedingly proud of his daughter's success in her life.
John is survived by his daughter, Christina Bertolino, and her fiancé, Christian Ferrante; his brother, Anthony Bertolino Jr. (Susan); his niece, Allison Falk (Tyler); nephew, Anthony Bertolino; and many close cousins and godchildren.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his beloved dog, Vinny.
Visitation will be 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road. A funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Vitus Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
