John Edward Fobes, 66, of New Castle, Pennsylvania, Lawrence County, passed away at UPMC Passavant on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2022. He was born in New Castle, Pennsylvania, on April 18, 1956, to John Herbert Fobes and Helen Marie Hall Fobes.

He married Jane Ladesic on June 21, 1980.

John was a U.S. veteran, having served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He was employed at Altium Packaging and worked there for 44 years.

John was was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Slippery Rock.

He enjoyed rebuilding swimming pools, playing with dogs and going to the Meadows Casino. John was a lifelong Steelers fan.

Survivors include his wife, Jane, of New Castle, Pennsylvania; two sons, Michael John (Sabrina) of Circleville, Ohio, and John Richard of New Brighton, Pennsylvania; daughter, Rhonda of New Castle, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Carol Black (Walter) of New Castle, Pennsylvania, and Tracy Fobes of New Castle, Pennsylvania; brother, Bill (Kerri) of New Castle, Pennsylvania; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 680 S. Main St. Slippery Rock, with Father Sean Francis presiding. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at the Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St. Slippery Rock, PA 16057.
