John E. Henry Obituary

John E. Henry, 74, of Bessemer, Pennsylvania, passed away at his residence on Monday, Oct. 7, 2024.

He was born Aug. 13, 1950, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Warren (Ed) and Martha (Gaskey) Henry Jr.

John was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

He worked as a machinist for Spirex Corporation for over 30 years. He was also a certified auctioneer working for Dale Cunningham and Mark Shaw.

He was a lifelong member of Bessemer Presbyterian Church.

John was the president and founder of Gone to the Dogs coon-hunting club. He loved farming, working and driving in the fields. He was an avid deer hunter, but his main passion was coon hunting. He enjoyed listening to the dogs doing their job in the woods.

He and his father also had a passion for horses, especially Percheron and Belgian draft horses; they would take them to the farm show in Harrisburg and the Canfield Fair.

John is survived by his wife, E. Jean Clark Henry, whom he married Aug. 6, 2005; his children, Chad (Maria Rubia) Henry, Ryan (Amanda) Henry and stepdaughter, Tessa (Nate) Allen; brother, Jeff Henry; sister, Jane (Jobie) McDowell; and nine grandchildren, Haylie Henry, Edward Henry, Chase Henry, Blaze Henry, Lauren Henry, Sadie Henry, Evan Henry, Elbie Allen and Electra Allen.

His parents preceded him in death.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, 2024, at Terry Cunningham Funeral Home, 203 Oak St., Bessemer, PA.


Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct.12, 2024, at Bessemer Presbyterian Church, 29 N. Main St., Bessemer, PA.

Burial will take place in the Duff Cemetery in Darlington, Pennsylvania.
