Joseph R. Trocci, 72, of Ellwood City, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2022, at Good Samaritan Hospice in Brighton Township following a brief illness.
Born in New Castle on March 7, 1950, Joe was the son of the late Joseph and Christina Papa Trocci.
He married the former Madelyn Hervatine on April 29, 1978.
Joe worked for Sparmon Fischler for 25 years, then at Trader Horn in Ellwood City for 10 years until it closed. Most recently, Joe spent his summers working at Pittsburgh International Race Complex and his winters substitute teaching at both the New Castle and Ellwood City area school districts.
A member of Divine Grace Parish, Joe umpired both softball and baseball and refereed C.Y.O. basketball.
He enjoyed reading, sitting on the front porch and listening to Pittsburgh Pirates games.
Joe is survived by his wife of 44 years, Madelyn Trocci; two sons, Joseph (Shelby) Trocci and Michael Trocci, all of Ellwood City; five grandchildren, Colby, Caden Alysabeth, Reagan, Caden Joseph and Gianna; a sister, Brenda Crivelli of Union Township; two brothers, Dale Trocci of West Pittsburg and Dennis (Marcia) Trocci of Edinburg; three nephews, David Trocci, Joey Crivelli and Frank Sniezek; and a niece, Alyssa Trocci.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8, at the Joseph A. Tomon Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Ave., Ellport. A blessing service will follow the visitation at 8 p.m. with Fr. Mark Thomas of Divine Grace Parish, celebrant.
