Kathleen Agnes Leihgaber (Kathy) Obituary

New Castle - Kathleen "Kathy" Agnes Leihgaber of New Castle, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at the age of 82 from a stroke, surrounded by her family to the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2026.

Kathy loved spending time with her family, acting in the theatre, golfing, traveling with family and friends, reading her daily devotionals and hosting get-togethers.

She was a licensed social worker for 30 years.

She leaves family and friends who adore her, and a lifetime of memories that will be told and retold for years to come.

Kathy is survived by her husband of 64 years, John L. Leihgaber. She also leaves behind, her daughter Dawn (Ray) Baselj; two sons, John E. (Cindy Pipin) Leihgaber and Aaron Leihgaber; son-in-law, Jeff Freeze; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; her brother, Edward "Bruddy" (Melanie Sugar) Grega; and many beloved nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kelly Freeze; her parents, Edward and Agnes Grega; and her brothers, George and William "Billy" Grega.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026, and 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026, at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Ave. A funeral service will be held at noon Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026, at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel.
