Kathryn Ann Fray Obituary

New Castle, PA - Kathryn Ann Fray, 59, of Neshannock Township, passed away Feb. 4, 2026, in her home.

Kathryn was born Feb. 23, 1966, in New Castle, a daughter of Joseph S. and Shirley J. (Davis) Senko.

A 1984 graduate of New Castle High School, she completed her Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education at Slippery Rock University, and later earned a Masters of Education from Westminster College.

Kathryn began her career teaching chemistry at Maury High School in Norfolk, Virginia, before accepting a position to teach in the same capacity at Laurel High School in New Castle, Pennsylvania, where she remained for 14 years. While at Laurel High, she also served as an assistant track and field coach and oversaw the eighth-grade Travel Club's annual trips.

Kathryn was a member of the Holy Spirit Parish of New Castle - St. Mary's Church, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a familiar smiling face at many church festivals and fundraisers.

An avid reader, Kathryn's passion for fitness and nutrition remained with her throughout her life, and she spent endless hours walking on her treadmill.

She married her beloved husband, Jay "Todd" Fray, on June 30, 2000. In 2002, a motorcycle accident significantly impacted both of their lives, and in addition to being an adoring husband, Todd graciously took on the role of becoming her devoted caregiver.

Senko (Elva), of Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania; a sister, Susan M. Baer (Dr. Robert), Dickinson, North Dakota; three nieces, Carly West (James), Sydney Senko and Mila Michael; three nephews, Joseph G. Senko (Taylor), Samuel Senko and Fletcher Michael; five great-nephews; and her former spouse, Bernie Dickey.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her father, Joseph S. Senko.

Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday (2-12-26) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle.
