New Castle, PA - Laura A. Caravella, 99, of New Castle passed away the evening of July 6, 2026, at the Haven Convalescent Home.

Born Nov. 9, 1926, in New Castle, Laura was the daughter of the late John W. and Anna Marino Fair.

Laura married her beloved husband, Sam Caravella, on Sept. 3, 1949. Sam preceded her in death Dec. 31, 1999.

Laura had retired from Shenango Pottery, where she had worked for 42 years as a selector.

She was a lifelong member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Church. Laura was an avid fan of both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates.

She enjoyed walking when she could, but Laura's greatest joy as a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother was spending time with her family.

Laura is survived by her daughter, Susan Aller, and her husband, Douglas; two grandchildren, Douglas Aller (Jessica) and Ryan Aller (Leah); and one great-grandson, Tucker.

In addition to her parents and husband, Laura was preceded in death by three brothers, Joseph, Jack and Thomas Fair; and four sisters, Dorothy Fazzone, Marie Diana, Evelyn Vitanovich and Margaret Fair.

Visitation will be 9 to 10:15 a.m. Thursday, July 9, at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 S. Mill St. A procession will leave the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Thursday for a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Church. Father Aaron Kriss will officiate. Burial will be in St. Vitus Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the Tanner family and the staff at the Haven Convalescent Home for their wonderful care of Laura during her time there.
