New Castle, Pennsylvania - Lawrence Douglas Ritchie, 64, of Village Lane, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2025, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was born in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, on June 26, 1961, a son of the late Franklin and Doris (Kennedy) Ritchie. Doug worked for Medevac Ambulance in Ellwood City for the transportation division. He was a member of Hickory and Shenango township volunteer fire departments. He enjoyed watching TV and sports.
He is survived by one daughter, Melissa Ritchie of Florida; two brothers, Frank Ritchie, Jr. and Brian Ritchie; longtime companion, Robin Ehrhart; two longtime friends, Marie Hogan and Marlene Barthel; three grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and nieces and nephews that he loved.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Mark Ritchie and Paul Ritchie, and one sister, Joetta Keller.
A memorial service will be celebrated Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Christ United Church (Eastbrook Presbyterian Church), 3727 State Road, New Castle, PA, 16101.
