Louis John Ippolito, 75, formerly of Ellport, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2025, at The Grove at New Wilmington.
Born in Ellwood City, Louis was the son of the late Louis John and Catherine Pishioneri Ippolito.
Louis retired from the Youngstown City School District, where he worked as a custodian.
He was a former member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish in New Castle, where he sang in the choir and was a lector.
Louis was a veteran of the Navy, serving during the Vietnam War.
He graduated Lincoln High School in 1967, and attended the University of Pittsburgh. He received his BS in Computer Science from Geneva College in 1980.
Louis enjoyed bowling in several leagues and was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan. He also enjoyed music, reading, puzzles and spending time with his family.
Louis is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Walter "Tarkey" and Kierstyn Ippolito of Pittsburgh; his sister, Catherine Louise and R. Hugh Anderson of Warren, Ohio, his brother-in-law, Tom Hazen of Ellwood City; his former wife, Joyce Ross of New Castle; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Louis was preceded in death by his sister, Rita Ann Hazen.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2025, until the time of the 11 a.m. Mass at Holy Redeemer Church in Ellwood City.
Inurnment will follow at Locust Grove Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Joseph A. Tomon Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory.
