New Castle, PA - Lylia M. Riggans, age 75, of New Castle, passed away the evening of Jan. 11, 2026, at her residence.

Born May 19, 1950, in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy (Jones) Riggans.

Lylia was a 1977 graduate of YSU, where she earned her bachelor's degree in education.

For over 30 years, she was employed by Jameson Memorial Hospital, retiring as Director of Environmental Services.

Survivors include her three nephews, Charles E. Jackson of Medina, Tennessee, John Wesley Riggans II and William Riggans, both of Cheyenne, Wyoming; and one niece, Mary Christine (Riggans) Brown also of Cheyenne, Wyoming.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Jo (Riggans) Jackson; and her brother, Charles Oliver Riggans.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visitation or services.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.

Her family would like to thank the many caregivers and very much-loved friends and neighbors who have offered support and encouragement the past several years. Our appreciation cannot be expressed enough. She was very grateful and loved each of you very much. Thank you all so very much.
