Marcia S. Anderson, 81, of Muzzy Drive died Thursday, March 7, 2024, at John the XXIII Nursing Home in Hermitage, Pennsylvania.

She was born April 5, 1942, in Plain Grove, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Paul and Mary Margaret (Hilderbrandt) Saniga.

She married Mr. Leroy M. Anderson on Aug. 24, 1963. Mr. Anderson survives at home.

She was a member of St. Peter's Parish in Slippery Rock.

Mrs. Anderson was the director of Adult Literacy in Lawrence County, retiring after over 25 years. She was a member of many boards and organizations and was also the past president of the Laurel School Board.

Mrs. Anderson enjoyed traveling, cross stitch and knitting, and she loved reading.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, John R. Anderson and his wife, Rose, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jeffry M. Anderson and his wife, Cheryl, of Springfield, Oregon, and Aaron J. Anderson and his wife, Jill, of New Castle; and one granddaughter, Lydia R. Anderson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Saniga and Donald Saniga.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Ave. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Mary Mother of Hope Church. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery in Harrisville, Pennsylvania.
